House Legislation to Expand Buy America Set for a House Floor Vote

Íæż½ã½ã Warns of Negative Impacts on Project Delivery and Environment

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed legislation which would expand the Buy America requirement to include construction materials.  Íæż½ã½ã and other industry stakeholders are concerned that this new requirement would include but not be limited to aggregates that are used to make products like cement and asphalt. Íæż½ã½ã is very concerned about the impacts that this new requirement would have on the construction supply chain, project delivery and the environment. Íæż½ã½ã and other industry stakeholders recently met with the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to reconsider this approach. The House of Representatives is set to take up this legislation the week of June 28.
